About Me
I am Raj Dhonota.
For 20 years, I’ve lived the real highs and lows of entrepreneurship—built companies, made millions, lost millions, and learned more from failure than success ever taught me. My education didn’t come from textbooks. It came from doing the work, taking the hits, and getting back up sharper every time. I’ve played the long game in high-risk, high-reward ventures—and now, I’m stepping into my final and most focused chapter yet: a new venture in the US, powered by two decades of hard-earned insight, relentless ambition, and the drive to keep pushing boundaries.
Bio
My Entrepreneurial Journey
First Venture
I started my first venture in 1998 trying to transform the real estate industry. The business grew to a portfolio of 200 properties and a team of 25 in 18 months. Venture failed due to lack of funding.
Data Outsourcing Venture
Started a joint venture in Data Outsourcing. Grew the business over 4 years from a team of 20 to 560 in multi-million turnover over 4 years. Successfully exited the business.
Software Development Venture
I hired a small team of developers to work on personal tech ventures. Over 4 years the business grew 8 fold and turned over millions.
Several Successful Exits
In addition to the growth of the software development company over the 4 years 2009 to 2014, I launched and successfully exited multiple tech ventures globally.
£1mn Investment Fund
In 2014 I launched my own £1mn pre-seed investment fund. Over 4 years I went on to invest approx. £5mn and supported over 400 entrepreneurs/start-up ventures.
Investment Fund Fails
The majority of founders found the startup journey too difficult - leading to a lack of return. This lead to the investment fund collapsing.
Beauty Spa
Following the collapse of the investment fund, I helped launch and grow a luxurious beauty spa turning over nearly £1mn per year.
My Last Venture
I am currently in the throws of launching my last venture in the US as well as offering a limited number of entrepreneurs time through mentoring/business coaching.
